Embracing Community: Recap of the first gathering of Shiloh's "C-D-E" Families

On Sunday, March 16, 2025, the members of Shiloh Baptist Church in Edgemere, MD, who have last names starting with the letters C, D, or E, came together for their first family meeting of the year. This special gathering offered a wonderful opportunity for fellowship, connection, and the growth of community spirit among the church families.


The event was led by Rev. Dr. Heber Brown, III, along with Deacon Bobby Heard and Deaconess Saundra Heard. Bishop Heber Brown, II, empowered these dedicated individuals to facilitate this family group, ensuring a warm and engaging atmosphere that left a positive impression on everyone involved.

Building Connections


This gathering welcomed both newcomers and long-standing church members. The event created a unique opportunity for individuals from diverse backgrounds to connect and share their stories. For instance, Monika C., shared some of her reflections on being a grandmother and how so much of her life is focused on supporting her grandchildren. This resonated with many attendees, who shared similar experiences.


The mix of longstanding friendships and new connections sparked a sense of joy and camaraderie, highlighting the rich fabric of the Shiloh community.


Inspiring Messages and Interaction


An interactive "getting to know you" session allowed families to share insights about their faith journeys and aspirations. During this time, families communicated what support they needed and how they could help others. Participants expressed eagerness to build a nurturing community where everyone felt valued.

Valuable Feedback for Future Gatherings
